In my opinion, it is difficult for an artist to be vulnerable and exist authentically in this world. Artists are often expected to constantly produce whatever type of art is most appreciated by their audience—and only that. Any attempt to create art outside of what is expected is often shunned or looked down upon. We frequently see this in our culture through the notion of someone “falling off.” To encourage authentic expressions of art, we must be okay with being disappointed by our favorite artists from time to time.
Artists Are Constantly Evolving
Nothing is meant to stay the same forever. As humans and civilization evolve, so does art—including the ways we interpret it. It’s important to recognize that some artists only gain recognition after their death or after many years have passed, once the cultural climate becomes more open and accepting of their medium.
Beauty Is in the Eye of the Beholder
What I find beautiful and what you find beautiful might be two different things—or they might be the same. Something you once found beautiful might now repel you, and something you once found repulsive may become attractive. That’s the beauty of life—it’s ever-evolving, and there’s something out there for everyone on both sides of the coin.
Art Is Here, There, and Everywhere
Art transcends time and space. It allows people to communicate across dimensions. Since the beginning of time, human beings have created art from whatever they had at their disposal. What may seem mundane can be transformed into a work of art—if you choose to see it that way.
