Indulge in a Special Seafood Feast at St. Thomas VI’s Fish Bar

Baked oysters and an Ay Papí cocktail at Fish Bar in St. Thomas, VI.

I love fish! Fish is quite literally in my blood. You see, my great-grandfather was a fisherman who unfortunately got lost at sea. But that’s neither here nor there. What’s important is fish have been part of my life since before I would leave them born. When I learned that Fish Bar is a restaurant dedicated to fresh fish in the VI, I had to try it.

Fish Bar is a seafood lovers paradise.

One of my favorite things about Fish Bar is that almost every item on the menu caters to fish. If you don’t like fish, this might not be the spot for you. I only saw one meat plate on the menu — the carnivore plate made with pork belly or ribeye. The first time I came to Fish Bar, I was craving chargrilled oysters and had them to go — and they did not disappoint.

A one-of-a-kind oyster haven on St. Thomas.

It is challenging to find fresh oysters on St. Thomas.  I’m not blaming the local food scene simply because I know oysters are not native to our waters. That still doesn’t change the fact that, as an oyster lover, I need my supply of oysters. If you’re like me, head to the Fish Bar to re-up on your desired oysters. There are both raw and baked oysters and even oyster shooters. The oysters and oyster shooter was my fave.

Gorgeous views abound.

One of the only things that can top off a satisfying dinner is a gorgeous view paired with it. The views at Fish Bar are nothing short of amazing. I recommend going closer to sunset so that you don’t miss the true beauty that Saint Thomas’ north side offers. In my opinion, this part of the island has some of the best sunsets in the Caribbean. Since the restaurant is on a hilly mountaintop, viewing other islands and boats in the distance is effortless. Turns out that Fish Bar has more than one treat to offer.
