Want a Peaceful Oasis? Explore the Baths in Virgin Gorda, a Hidden Beauty Unveiled
The Baths in Virgin Gorda is one of the British Virgin Islands (BVI) most beautiful and unique attractions. The Baths are located in Devil’s Bay National Park and are composed of giant gray boulders scattered around the park and beach. The last time I visited The Baths was when I was a teen, and every visit has been supreme. Here are a few takeaways from my visit.

The journey from the BVI to the USVI is as old as time.
My paternal great-grandmother and her sisters migrated from Virgin Gorda to St. Thomas, so my visit to The Baths was reminiscent of a visit home, in a sense. The boulders by The Baths were there long before my family arrived in Virgin Gorda, so it is without a doubt that I journeyed into territory my ancestors did as well. The migration from the BVI to the VI stands out for its uniqueness, as it involved not only humans but also the boulders. I deeply relate to the boulders found at The Baths, as they also exist in St. Thomas. Avoid questioning me about the intricacies of their journey, please.
Beauty and danger walk beside one another at the Baths.
The journey to The Baths can be dangerous if you bypass the proper precautions. If you visit The Baths by boat, use a charter that abides by British laws. I used Stormy Pirates, who managed the legalities surrounding customs clearing in the BVI. I have heard of people who surpassed this process and experienced immense difficulties enjoying their time at The Baths. Moreover, deviating from the designated pathways set by the national park can result in injury, loss of life, or even more severe consequences. It’s best to follow the signs at the Baths to experience the ultimate peace the park provides.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy the serenity.
The Baths are astonishingly gorgeous. Although it is part of a national park, there are ample opportunities to revel in island living. At the end of the hiking trail is a beach bar and merchandise area for those searching for a refreshing snack or souvenir. And you guessed it – The Baths are on a beach, so if all else fails, you can kick back and enjoy time in the sun. Regardless of what you choose to do while at The Baths, I am sure you will have a great time.
